Network Traffic Monitoring System

Project Files
- Network traffic monitoring is a system that constantly monitors a computer network for slow or failing components and that it alerts the network administrator (via email, SMS or other types of alarms) in case of outages or other trouble. It is also is part of network management. So while an intrusion detection system monitors a network for threats from the outside, a network traffic monitoring system monitors the network for problems caused by overloaded or crashed servers, network connections or other devices. For example, to determine the status of a web server, monitoring software may regularly send an HTTP request to fetch a page. Besides, network traffic refers to the amount of data moving across a network at a given point of time. Network data is mostly encapsulated in network packets, which provide the load in the network. Not only that, it is also the main component for network traffic measurement, network traffic control and simulation.
