This project on Economic Load Dispatch using genetic algorithms (GA),particle swarm optimization (PSO), artificial neural network (ANN) executed in MATLAB.
The problem of efficient, economic and optimal operation of a power system has always occupied an important position in the electric power industry. The problem of economic dispatch for thermal systems was solved by equalizing incremental fuel costs. In recent times there has been a rapid growth in new mathematical methods and the availability of computational capability for solving problems of this nature. A number of iterative methods have been suggested for economic load scheduling. They are graphical method, particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithms (GA) , artificial neural network (ANN).
